Services

Five jobs we do every day.

What is included, how long it takes and when it makes sense. You get the price as a quote before we start.

Servicing and maintenance

A service to the manufacturer’s schedule keeps your car reliable and the warranty valid. The service plan for your vehicle says which work is due. We read it out and tell you beforehand what needs doing.

What is included

  • Engine oil and oil filter to the manufacturer’s specification
  • Air, cabin and fuel filters, depending on the interval
  • Check brake fluid and change it as specified
  • Spark plugs and belts, depending on the interval
  • Visual check of brakes, tyres, lights, fluids and underbody
  • Reset the service indicator, stamp the service book
Time
Usually 2 to 4 hours
When
As shown by the service indicator or service book
Good to know
Your manufacturer’s warranty stays valid

MFK inspection prep

When the road traffic office sends the inspection notice, we check your car beforehand on the same points as the official MFK inspection. So you know before the appointment what needs doing and what it costs.

What is included

  • Brakes: braking force, discs, pads, lines, handbrake
  • Lights and signals, including headlight alignment
  • Steering, axles, shock absorbers and boots
  • Exhaust: no leaks and securely mounted
  • Body and underbody: rust on load-bearing parts
  • If you like, we take the car to the inspection
Time
Pre-check takes about 1 hour
When
As soon as the notice is in your letterbox

Tyre changes and storage

Two changes a year, safe storage in between. At every change we check tread, age and damage, and tell you in good time when a set should be replaced.

What is included

  • Change and balance the wheels
  • Measure tread depth, read the age from the DOT code
  • Set tyre pressures, check the tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Tighten wheel bolts to the specified torque
  • Wash the wheels, label them and store them with us
  • New tyres sourced and fitted, on request
Time
About 30 minutes per change
When
Rule of thumb: winter tyres from October to Easter
Good to know
400 spaces in tyre storage

Repairs

From squealing brakes to a warning light on the dashboard: we track down the cause with diagnostic testers for all common makes, and only repair once you have seen the quote.

What is included

  • Read the fault memory and narrow down the cause
  • Brakes, clutch, exhaust, suspension
  • Electrics: battery, starter motor, alternator, lights
  • Cooling system, timing belt, water pump
  • Original-equipment quality parts
  • Courtesy car by arrangement
Time
Depends on the job: the quote states the time
When
With warning lights, noises or a change in how the car drives
Good to know
Extra work only with your OK

Air-con service

An air-con system loses a little refrigerant over the years, even without a fault. It then cools less well, and the compressor gets less lubrication. An air-con service brings the system back to the specified charge.

What is included

  • Recover the refrigerant and measure the amount
  • Evacuate the system and test it for leaks
  • Refill to the manufacturer’s specification, with compressor oil
  • Check or replace the cabin filter
  • Function test, measuring the temperature at the vents
  • On request: disinfection against musty smells
Time
About 1 hour
When
Best in spring, before the first hot days
Good to know
For both refrigerants: R134a and R1234yf

Common questions

Does my warranty stay valid if I don’t go to a dealer?

Yes. We service to the manufacturer’s schedule, with original-equipment quality parts, and stamp the service book. That keeps the manufacturer’s warranty valid.

What does MFK inspection prep include?

We check your car the way the official inspection does: brakes, lights, steering, suspension, exhaust emissions, rust. You get a list of faults with prices. If you like, we take the car to the inspection ourselves.

When should I switch to winter tyres?

Switzerland has no general winter tyre requirement. But if you cause an accident in snow on summer tyres, you can be held partly liable. Rule of thumb: from October to Easter.

Can I drop the car off outside opening hours?

Yes. There is a key box next to the gate. Put the key in one of the envelopes, write down your name, phone number and number plate, and you are done.

Do you repair vans too?

Yes, up to 3.5 t gross weight. One of our three lifts is built for them.
